Enderman XP Farm (The End)
Enderman XP farms built on the outer End islands are widely considered the fastest method of gaining experience levels in survival Minecraft. The design exploits Enderman's unique spawning behavior in the End dimension, where they are the only hostile mob that naturally appears on the obsidian platforms and chorus-covered islands far from the main island.
How It Works
The farm consists of a large spawning platform built at least 128 blocks away from the main End island (to prevent Endermen from spawning there instead). Endermen spawn on the platform, fall through trapdoor gaps they pathfind over, and collect in a killing chamber at the bottom. The player delivers a single hit to each Enderman to claim the XP orbs.
Most designs use an Endermite named and placed in a minecart as an aggro lure. Endermen are hostile toward Endermites and will pathfind toward it, walking off the edges of the platform in the process.
Build Requirements
- Access to the outer End islands (defeat the Ender Dragon first)
- Large supply of building blocks for the spawning platform (at least 41x41)
- One Endermite (obtained by throwing Ender Pearls repeatedly)
- Minecart and rail to contain the Endermite
- Name tag to prevent despawning
- Trapdoors for the fall gaps
Expected Rates
Section under construction. Approximate rates are 80,000+ XP/hour in Java Edition with an optimized platform.
